About the Role

Hire A Cyber Pro is looking for qualified CMMC Certified Assessors (CCAs) to support CMMC Level 2 assessment, readiness, mock assessment, and evidence review engagements.

This is a W-2 employment opportunity for CCAs who want to gain practical assessment experience, support C3PAO assessment teams, participate in structured mock assessments, and work with organizations preparing for CMMC certification.

The CCA will assist with reviewing evidence, supporting interviews, documenting assessment observations, evaluating implementation against CMMC/NIST SP 800-171 requirements, and working under the direction of a Lead CCA or assessment lead.

Responsibilities

• Support CMMC Level 2 readiness, mock assessment, and assessment-related engagements.

• Review policies, procedures, SSP content, screenshots, system exports, and technical evidence.

• Evaluate evidence against CMMC practices and assessment objectives.

• Participate in OSC interviews and help develop objective-mapped follow-up questions.

• Document open items, evidence gaps, and assessment observations.

• Support internal assessment team discussions, hot washes, and evidence calibration.

• Maintain professional assessor boundaries and avoid providing remediation advice during assessment activities.

• Communicate clearly with OSCs, consultants, MSPs, and assessment team members.

• Follow C3PAO, Lead CCA, client, and engagement-specific procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Active CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) credential.

• Strong working knowledge of CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171.

• Ability to review evidence at the assessment-objective level.

• Understanding of assessor independence, role boundaries, and professional conduct.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work in a remote assessment environment.

• Comfortable participating in interviews, evidence reviews, and team discussions.

• Ability to document findings and open items clearly and objectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior mock assessment, readiness assessment, or C3PAO support experience.

• Experience with Microsoft GCC High, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, or related environments.

• Experience supporting DoD contractors, MSPs, manufacturers, engineering firms, or DIB organizations.

• Familiarity with shared responsibility matrices, SSPs, POA&Ms, CUI scoping, and evidence repositories.

Compensation

Compensation will depend on experience, availability, role, and engagement type. This is a W-2 employee position, with opportunities to support CMMC readiness, mock assessment, evidence review, and assessment team engagements.
